Development of a comprehensive technology for processing high quality plant meat-like extrudates with the possibility of implementing Polish varieties of high-protein plants

Purpose and effects of the Project:

Development of new meat-like extrudates in line with nutritional trends and the needs of the food market, with the possibility of using Polish high-protein plants, as well as technical and technological assumptions, and creation of a prototype of an installation for the production of products with high nutritional value, with the implementation of the result for B2B. The 9th TRL will be achieved and new knowledge will be created regarding the conditions and stable extrusion process for producing high-quality food, while minimizing the negative impact of the process on the environment.

 

The effect of the project will be the development of a new solution, ready to be implemented into business practice, regarding the product and the production process of high-quality products intended for other processors from the food sector in B2B channels.

 

The project will be implemented in the years 2021 to 2023.

The project is co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development under the Operational Program Smart Growth 2014-2020 co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Process

We have developed a new, original process for producing textured plant proteins, which include raw materials from Polish plant varieties with high protein content.

The technology we use is based on the unique design of a modular extruder and peripheral devices creating a prototype technological installation developed as part of the design work. Thanks to the developed and tested technology, we effectively implement new textured plant proteins and meat analogues, currently unavailable on the market.

We are focused on ecological activities, including minimizing the negative impact on the environment by using plant raw materials and limiting production waste.

Products

A range of our new products will soon appear in the form of dry textured vegetable protein and plant meat analogues, produced from balanced raw material mixtures, without soy, using domestic varieties of high-protein plants from NON-GMO crops, enabling obtaining high protein and fiber content, as well as bioactive compounds in products.

New products, in various shapes and sizes, will be dedicated to wholesale customers and producers of vegan and vegetarian food, meatless products, ready meals and convenient foods as semi-finished products for meat-like products, etc. in the B2B business model.
